It is thanks to the combination of whey and soda that the cakes are very fluffy and remain soft for a long time. The recipe is considered basic, if desired, such cakes can be prepared with a filling, potatoes, cheese, mushrooms, cottage cheese or herbs are perfect.
Prepare the required ingredients for making tortillas.
Heat the whey in a water bath or in a microwave oven until warm, add soda, sugar, salt, mix thoroughly.
After a few minutes, the serum will react with baking soda, and a lush foam will appear on the surface.
Sift the flour through a sieve, add it in small portions to the whey, stirring constantly.
When all flour has been added, knead a thick, soft dough with your hands. From above the dough can be greased with vegetable oil, so it will not stick to the palms. Cover the dough with a towel and let stand for 30 minutes.
Then divide the dough into 4-6 equal parts.
Roll a round ball from each part. Sprinkle the board with flour. Roll the dough balls into a flat cake 0.5 cm thick.
Heat the frying pan, lightly grease the surface with oil, lay out the dough piece. Make several punctures on top with a fork. Fry the cakes over low heat, covered. When large bubbles appear on the surface, turn the cake over to the other side.
Fry the tortillas until golden brown on top. Fry the rest of the blanks in the same way.
After frying, place the products on a napkin to absorb excess oil.
Serve the flat cakes warm.
