Now it is customary to say that diabetes is not a disease, but a way of life. But is it really that simple? Take a person who suddenly discover this disease. He already had a certain way of life, a daily routine; he loves certain foods. And suddenly he gets advice to change all this. How can one not get confused because many things now need to get used to again. This is especially true of food.
With type 2 diabetes, doctors recommend observing a diet and counting bread units. Some products, for example, white rice, pasta, potatoes, some types of meat are proposed to be excluded. And now lunch in a cafe or dinner in a restaurant loses its appeal. Meeting with friends causes a panic: suddenly you have to devote them to health problems. Getting used to a new diet requires a lot of strength. After all, what was on the table every day is prohibited.
In sick people, as a result of a violation of carbohydrate metabolism, after the consumption of certain products in the blood, glucose levels increase. To reduce it, you have to take drugs and follow a diet. The diagnosis puts pressure on the psyche, because the disease threatens with serious complications. Nutrition information is often controversial: opposing tips are found on different sites. But I want certainty: what can be eaten and what should be avoided.
For those who have been diagnosed recently or who are still poorly oriented in these matters, the portal of the Russian Diabetes Association helps to find the necessary information. It was created specifically to help patients. In addition, the purpose of the association is to finance scientists conducting research in the field of diabetes. Association experts are involved in testing foods suitable for both sick and healthy.
Recently, with the participation of the Association’s specialists, an examination of the tomato tomato ketchup without sugar and starch from the Maheev brand was carried out. On its packaging there is a marking that the product is recommended by the RDA.
It would seem that ketchup is just a food supplement. But he can make a serious “contribution” to the amount of glucose received: in a 25 gram serving of ordinary industrial ketchup – a teaspoon of sugar. Therefore, patients of endocrinologists have to refuse not only basic products, which is accompanied by stress, but also sauces. It turns out that diabetics need not only to replace white rice with a more healthy brown one, but also to abandon the familiar taste that gives the dish ketchup.
In the new product from "Maheev" sugar is replaced by fructose, and starch – by pectin. It can be safely offered to friends and relatives, and at the same time not to talk about health problems.
Manufacturers, through which millions of people can increase their comfort, are making a major contribution to their quality of life. Indeed, such products help to feel more comfortable, despite the limitations. When smells and tastes from the “former life” remain when changing the diet, this reduces the level of stress and facilitates the process of adaptation to new conditions. Ketchup will certainly be appreciated by overweight people, as well as lovers of snacking on sandwiches. It can also be used for cooking.
For example, put out a sea fish.
- 2 frozen mackerels

- Cut the onion into half rings, chop the carrots into strips.
