It is convenient to freeze in small portions. This sorrel takes up little space in the freezer. You can also add such sorrel to pies.
Prepare the sorrel.
Chop the washed and dried sorrel in advance.
Divide in portions into bags. Unscrew the edges of the bags.
Microwave the bags for 45 seconds.
Let the sorrel cool. This treatment will prevent the sorrel from drying out in the freezer, which sometimes happens if you just freeze the slices. Fold up the edges of the bag and secure with tape or tie tightly.
Freeze. Store in the freezer.
Take out a bag of sorrel to prepare the dish. It is enough to boil the broth with potatoes, add a bag of frozen sorrel and a generous handful of herbs – and now summer greetings are on the table.
