Description of the preparation:
Choose a quality wine for the preparation of the drink so that it does not spoil its taste. Instead of an orange, it is permissible to use tangerines, which will certainly be on almost every table in the winter. Add or reduce spices to taste – fantasize and cook with pleasure!
Prepare the indicated ingredients.
Peel the orange, divide into segments. Peel each slice of the film and cut into pieces, put in a pan or cauldron, ladle. Rinse the apple in water, cut it into four parts and remove the seed blocks. Cut into slices and pour the slices into the pan.
Put cinnamon sticks and star anise flowers, pour in granulated sugar. Cinnamon sticks can optionally be replaced with ground cinnamon, and sugar with honey, but then the sweetener will need to be added to mulled wine that has cooled down to 35 degrees so that honey does not lose its useful properties.
Pour in apple juice and red wine. If you decide to add Cahors, exclude sugar from the list of ingredients. Place the pan on the stove and turn on medium heat.
Bring to a boil, but do not boil, but turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid so that the drink is steamed for 10 minutes. During this time, fruit slices and spices will give the liquid its taste and aroma.
Pour red mulled wine into cups, glasses, tin mugs and hand it to your relatives warm, almost hot, so that the drink warms them. Remember that mulled wine contains alcohol, so it’s better for children not to offer it!
