If you tried all known apple pies already, but didn’t try this “Apples in the Snow” pie, I heartily advise you to do it. The cake is unusually good, easy to prepare, with a refined taste. See a step-by-step recipe and cook with pleasure, the family will appreciate your efforts.
Prepare the ingredients.
Pour salt, sugar, baking powder into the sifted flour, mix.
Add chilled butter, diced, to the flour.
Grind butter and flour into crumbs, add ice water and 1 tsp. lemon juice, replace the dough.
Put the dough in a bag and let it “rest” for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Peel the apples and cut them into large slices, sprinkle with lemon juice so that they do not darken.
Add 2 tbsp of sugar to apples.
Prepare the fill by mixing sour cream, 2 tbsp of sugar, 1 egg, 2 tbsp of starch, add a bag of vanilla sugar.
You can add 1 tbsp of rum for aroma and taste, the ingredient is optional, but it will add a refined taste to the fill.
Put the dough into a mold, (in this recipe, a mold with a diameter of 20 cm is used.). It is not necessary to lubricate the mold, as the dough is based on oil. Make high sides, chop the bottom with a fork.
Put apple slices in shape.
Fill with sour cream filling.
Bake the cake for 50 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees, monitor the oven and the readiness of the cake, depending on the operation of your oven.
Cool the cake to room temperature, remove from the mold.
Sprinkle the cake with icing sugar before serving.
The pie turned out to be just extraordinary, with friable shortcrust pastry, delicate vanilla flavor of the filling in combination with the taste of apples. Not a pie, but bliss!
