Ossetian pie with chard – a step by step recipe with a photo on Povar.ru
Cooking description:
You can prepare an Ossetian pie with chard both for a family dinner and for the arrival of welcome guests. The pastries are tender, hearty and delicious! Chard can be safely replaced with spinach or sorrel, it will turn out no worse. Try it!
Prepare all ingredients.
Combine warm milk, yeast and sugar. Stir and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
Pour kefir into a deep bowl. Add egg, salt and sour cream.
Stir, add flour and pour in the appropriate yeast mixture.
Knead a soft and slightly sticky dough. Collect it in a ball, brush with vegetable oil, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
Cut the onion into cubes and fry until soft. Add chopped chard leaves and simmer until tender. Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste.
When the contents of the pan have cooled, add the grated cheese.
By that time, the dough should have increased by 1.5-2 times.
Lubricate the work surface with vegetable oil. Divide the dough in two and shape each into a tortilla with your hands. Place the filling in the center.
Gather the edges towards the center, leaving a small hole in the middle.
Now crush the cake with your hands, make it the size of a plate. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment (I also dust the parchment with flour), cover with a towel and leave for 15-20 minutes. Then bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
After removing the cakes from the oven, brush them with butter, stack on top of each other, cover with a towel and let stand for 10 minutes. Ossetian pie with chard is ready. Bon Appetit!
