Below I will give a step-by-step description of how to make a halo of chawal (lemon rice). For this recipe, choose long-grain rice, such as a variety of basmati or jasmine. If you like spicy, then when frying rice, you can add green hot pepper. If you are bored with banal boiled rice, then be sure to try cooking it according to this recipe. It turns out very tasty and unusual!
Prepare all the ingredients.
Wash rice in cold water. Then soak it for 15 minutes. Drain and drop it onto a sieve.
Heat the pan over medium heat. Fry the spices in oil for a couple of minutes.
Add rice. Fry it for 2-3 minutes until the rice becomes transparent.
Pour salt water into the rice and add turmeric, bring to a boil, let it boil for a minute. Reduce heat to minimum, cover and simmer rice for about 20 minutes.
Sprinkle rice with lemon juice, add oil and cook without a lid for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve rice with a slice of lemon. Enjoy your meal!
