I want to share a recipe on how to cook kefir for babies at home. You do not need to have special culinary skills, the main thing is to be patient and have the necessary ingredients.
A product prepared with your own hands will always be healthier and tastier. Well, if we are talking about a small child, then you need to especially try! The dishes to be used must certainly be not only clean, but also sterilized. After boiling, milk should be cooled only at room temperature, since if it is removed in the cold, nutrients will remain several times less. According to this recipe, kefir for babies can be prepared both in cow's milk and on the basis of goat's milk. The principle will be the same. You can use not only sour cream as a starter, but also bifidobacteria or the same kefir that you get in the dairy kitchen. And be sure to put the finished fermented milk product in the refrigerator immediately after cooking – this is necessary in order to stop fermentation.
How to cook "Kefir for babies at home"
Prepare all ingredients.
Boil fresh milk before cooking. To do this, pour it into a saucepan.
Place on the stove and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Then cool at room temperature.
After cooling, add the leaven to it. For 1 glass of milk, I take 2 tablespoons. sour cream. Leave the milk to sour, covering the container with gauze, for about 10-12 hours at room temperature. If it seems to you that kefir is not thick enough, then simply increase the volume of the starter culture. Over time, you yourself will understand how much sour cream you need to make the perfect drink.
I usually knead the ingredients overnight, and in the morning a fresh and non-acidic kefir is ready for the baby. The shelf life of such kefir is about 4 days, since the product is completely natural. Bon Appetit!
