Prepare all ingredients. Boil the potatoes in their skins beforehand and let cool.
Peel and grate the cooled potatoes.
Cut the onion into small cubes, fry in butter and add to the potatoes.
Add grated cheese, eggs, salt and ground pepper as desired.
Mix everything well.
Form small cutlets from the resulting mass and roll them in breadcrumbs.
Place the patties in a hot skillet with oil and fry over medium heat on both sides until golden brown on top.
