Goose borscht – a step-by-step recipe with a photo on Povar.ru

Cooking description:

Not a single man will refuse a plate of hot borsch with goose, especially if you serve it with sour cream of any fat content or mayonnaise, garlic donuts, croutons or other savory pastries. If desired, the beets can be boiled or baked in the oven in advance.

Prepare the indicated ingredients. Peel vegetables and rinse in water.

Cut the goose breast into pieces, after rinsing in water. Place the slices in a saucepan and cover with hot water. Add bay leaves and cook for about 1 hour.

Then cut the potatoes into medium cubes, add to the saucepan to the meat and top up with water if it evaporates during cooking. Boil the potatoes for another 15 minutes.

Grate the carrots with fine cells, cut the beets, onions and tomatoes into small cubes. Pour the vegetable oil into the skillet and add the vegetable slices.

Stir and cook for about 4-5 minutes until tender.

Place vegetable fry in a saucepan with meat and salt. Boil for another 1-2 minutes.

Peel the garlic clove, chop and add to the borscht. Rinse the sauerkraut or add freshly chopped white cabbage and boil the borscht for another 3 minutes. If desired, at this moment, you can add chopped dill, parsley.

Pour hot borsch with goose meat into deep bowls and serve with sour cream.
