Sweet cherries can be used red or yellow, I like it more with red. Cherry compote always turns out fragrant. You can serve this compote with any desserts, pastries, etc. Take note of the recipe, for a variety of winter preparations, this is a great option!
Prepare your ingredients. Wash and sterilize a liter jar in a convenient way – over steam or in the oven.
Wash and dry the cherries. Transfer the cherries to the prepared jar.
Wash and dry the lemon, cut into slices or circles, add to the jar.
Pour boiling water over the cherries.
Cover the jar with a sterile lid and leave for 10 minutes. After a while, drain the water, bring to a boil and return to the jar.
After 10 minutes, drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar, boil for a couple of minutes and turn off the heat.
Return the compote to the jar.
Immediately roll up the jar with a sterile lid and place upside down. Cover the compote with a blanket, after a day, put it in the pantry.
