Prepare all the ingredients you need to make the canned fish sauce.
Peel the onion and chop finely. Put butter in a pan and add onions.
Fry over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring, until golden brown.
Add the tomato paste to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour water into the pan and stir.
Season everything with salt and pepper, stir and bring to a boil.
Add canned fish, stir and break the fish into smaller pieces.
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
