Wash the plums and put them in a sterilized jar. It is up to you to preserve whole or halves.
Wash the apples, cut into halves, remove the stalk and seed pod and cut into slices. Add to plums.
Pour boiling water over the fruit, cover and let stand for about 20 minutes. Then drain the water into a saucepan and boil again.
While the water is boiling, add sugar and citric acid to the jar.
Fill with boiled water. Roll up the lid, turn the jar upside down, wrap it in a blanket until it cools completely.
