5 easy sauces to turn homemade food into restaurant meals

Have you noticed how sauce can change the taste of a dish? Sometimes, for a familiar lunch or dinner to sparkle with new colors, just one small detail is enough. We have collected for you five simple recipes from the available ingredients that everyone can easily repeat in their kitchen.

Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • Cranberries – 120 grams;
  • Water – 100 grams;
  • Sugar – 50 grams;
  • Cornstarch – 1 tsp

Put the berries in a saucepan or stewpan. Pour in some water, add sugar and put on fire. After boiling, boil for a couple of minutes over medium heat. In a small bowl, combine the starch and water and stir until smooth. Pour the starch into the sauce, stir. Use a hand blender to chop everything and rub the sauce through a sieve. Cool slightly and serve.

Sour cream sauce with onions

This delicate and savory sauce is perfect for side dishes, meat or fish. The basic recipe can be supplemented with absolutely any spices and herbs that you like.

You will need:

  • Sour cream – 1 glass;
  • Onion – 1 pc.;
  • Butter – 30 grams;
  • Flour – 1 tbsp. l .;
  • Water – 2 tbsp. l .;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Peel and chop the onion. Place in a skillet with melted butter and fry until golden brown. Add flour, stirring occasionally, fry for a couple of minutes. Add sour cream. After boiling, pour in water, add salt and pepper to taste. After a minute, you can remove from the fire. Add chopped herbs to the finished sauce, if desired.

If you think what comes next about desserts, you are wrong. We suggest making chocolate sauce and serving it with meat. Ideal if it's a cool steak, for example.

Ingredients:

  • Onion – 1 pc.;
  • Chili pepper to taste;
  • Black chocolate – 50 grams;
  • Garlic – 1 clove;
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l .;
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp l .;
  • Cinnamon – 1 pinch
  • Coriander – 1 pinch;
  • Salt and pepper – 1 pinch

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the peeled and chopped onion and garlic. Fry over medium heat until transparent. Add tomato paste, salt and spices to taste. Simmer for a couple of minutes. Place the chocolate in the sauce and let it melt. Grind everything with an immersion blender until smooth. Serve warm.

Saffron cream sauce

Cream sauce is a great addition to poultry or meat. Saffron gives not only amazing aroma and taste, but also amazing color. This sauce, by the way, can be served with vegetable salads, for example.

Required:

  • Cream – 150 grams;
  • Onion – 1 pc.;
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l .;
  • Flour – 1 tbsp. l .;
  • Saffron – 2 pinches;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Pour oil into the pan and heat. Peel the onion, cut into small cubes. Place the onion in a skillet and fry for 3-4 minutes over medium heat until beautifully golden brown. Pour in the cream, add the saffron. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for about a couple more minutes, then add flour, stirring thoroughly. Boil the sauce over low heat until thickened. Strain the prepared sauce through a sieve and serve warm.

Avocado sauce

The most delicate avocado-based sauce is a great addition to fish dishes or vegetables. It takes just a few minutes to cook and does not require heat treatment. A quick and tasty sauce everyone will surely appreciate.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado – 1 pc.;
  • Sour cream – 100 grams;
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp;
  • Salt, pepper and herbs to taste.

Everything is very simple here – peel the avocado and put the pulp in a blender bowl. Add sour cream, salt and spices to taste and chopped herbs. Whisk everything until smooth and serve.
